Research Analyst – Crypto Infrastructure
1kx is an early-stage venture firm that helps founders launch and bootstrap token networks. We primarily lead seed and series A investment rounds with focus areas across infrastructure, consumer crypto, and middleware. We started in 2018 and have since been building a world-class platform to support our portfolio of 80+ companies, with the goal of being the most founder-friendly and helpful source of capital.
We are looking for an addition to our investment team to help source deal flow, conduct in-depth diligence & research, and support our infrastructure portfolio companies in the evolving crypto landscape.

What you offer
- Self-starter mentality with a proven ability to take initiative and operate with little oversight.
- Ability to digest new technical information quickly and precisely.
- Deep understanding of one or more subareas of crypto infrastructure or related technical fields, such as consensus, L2s, economics, decentralized storage, or privacy.
- Strong foundation in software engineering or computer science, with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
- Ideally have published technical content in the above areas.
- Ideally an active user of crypto applications and protocols.
- Ideally having prior experience working at a startup in engineering, research or product roles.
- Empathetic and ready to roll up your sleeves and work with entrepreneurs on their most pressing problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both technical and general content.
What you’ll do
The main responsibility of the role is in investing and research within crypto infrastructure:
- Source and diligence new investment opportunities.
- Assist in supporting 1kx portfolio companies in terms of product design and go-to-market strategy.
- Conduct deep technical and market research within areas of focus.
- Synthesize and disseminate insightful content in forms of tweets, posts, and talks.
